A man was stabbed in the upper right chest while trying to stop a woman from attacking another woman with a 12-inch kitchen knife, Ferry-Fillmore District police reported today.
Gregory Mingo, whose age was not disclosed, was listed in fair condition in Erie County Medical Center today, in the wake of the 12:50 a.m. knifing in a house on Block Street.
Police said Mingo was trying to disarm a woman, whose name was given to police. The woman with the knife was attacking Valisha Arrington, who was cut on the left hand, forehead and arms. Arrington was treated in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Cheektowaga. Police found the knife but not the attacker.
