LOCKPORT – A Lewiston man who downloaded thousands of pornographic photos of children onto his computer in 2011 and 2012 was placed on 10 years’ probation Tuesday.
State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. also ruled Stephen Hassey, 41, of Perry Court, is a Level 2 sex offender, meaning he is regarded as presenting a moderate risk of reoffending. Hassey pleaded guilty to two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child as a sexually motivated felony.
Under the terms of his probation, Hassey must stay at least 1,000 feet away from all schools, parks and playgrounds. he is barred from accessing the Internet or even owning a computer without his probation officer’s permission, and he must wear a global positioning system monitor for at least a year.
