NIAGARA FALLS – Damage was estimated at $1,900 following a burglary attempt at the Lotus Farms building on Main Street early Friday, Niagara Falls police said.
Officers answering an unrelated call heard a burglar alarm about 2:20 a.m. and discovered a broken front window and several cables and telephone lines cut at the rear of the building. Also, a side door was damaged by an ttempt to pry it open, police said.
Store surveillance cameras show a man striking the front window with a hammer. Police, however, believe the man never managed to get get into the building. An investigation is continuing.
