MAYVILLE – The arrest of a 31-year-old Jamestown man Tuesday for a Jan. 25 late night house burglary in Bemus Point was reported by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. Matthew E. Olson was arrested on second-degree burglary and third-degree grand larceny charges and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail following Ellery Town Court proceedings.
Following an investigation by Investigators David Morton and Tim Hollern and Deputy Troy Bouckhuyt, Olson was linked to the theft of a cash box and personal property from a home on North Everett Park Drive in Bemus Point about 11:30 p.m. Jan. 25. He is accused of breaking into the house through a basement door.
