NIAGARA FALLS – Neighbors caught a Niagara Falls man and held him for police after he was seen breaking into a pickup at 8:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Niagara Avenue on Sunday.
Fabian L. Carter, 43, of 15th Street was charged with petit larceny and third-degree criminal trespassing.
The 66-year-old victim and his son were found holding Carter for police until they arrived. The neighbors said they saw Carter inside the unlocked truck and pulled him out and held him on the ground for police. Carter reportedly said, “Call my cousin. He’ll give you $100 if you let me go.”
Carter was found with 70 cents in pennies, a GPS, cologne, and a hands-free earpiece, according to police.
