The treasurer of the Franklinville Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary has been charged with stealing $4,400 from the auxiliary’s account for her own personal use.
Dorothy A. Vinovrski, 57, of Franklinville, was arrested Friday at the post on Rushford Road on a felony charge of third-degree grand larceny, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.
A member of the auxiliary said Vinovrski resigned as treasurer earlier this month after the theft was discovered and that she indicated that she would pay back the money.
Sheriff’s officials said they did not know what she used the money for.
