LOCKPORT – Niagara County sheriff’s deputies investigating a break-in charged a man after they found several game systems, still in sealed boxes, on the back seat of vehicle at 8:45 p.m. Saturday at Crestwood Court West. Deputies said they found damaged security devices on the ground.
Allen J. Tomaino, 26, of Lincoln Avenue, was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and harassment.
Deputies were called and they stopped Tomaino after he attempted to run from the scene. A couple called the sheriff’s department when they found a door forced open and the house ransacked. Tomaino, who was put into handcuffs by police, threatened to kill the couple, according to a sheriff report.
Nothing was missing from the ransacked house. However a separate larceny was reported in The Woodlands, where Tomaino had been dropped off earlier that night and he was charged as a suspect in the earlier larceny.
A neighbor told deputies she saw Tomaino putting the boxes into the vehicle.
