LOCKPORT – A man accused of having a hand in stealing about $1,500 worth of products the Rite Aid on Lincoln Avenue was arrested Saturday evening after he entered the store as Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies were conducting an investigation.
Jason L. Benedict, 31, fled when approached and deputies used a Taser to subdue him after he ignored their commands to stop, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said that, among several thefts from the Rite Aid, Benedict is connected to at least five.
Benedict was charged with grand larceny, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing governmental administration. He faces a future appearance in Town of Lockport Court.
