A Euclid, Ohio, man early Tuesday was charged with assault and felony coercion after beating a woman in her flat in the 2000 block of Seneca Street, Buffalo police said.
Ryan Gaines, 26, was charged with third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, felony coercion, criminal mischief, harassment and child endangerment. he also is accused of attempting to stop his victim from opening the door when police responded to her 911 call. Police said the woman was choked and verbally abused, and feared for the safety of herself and her two children.
