A West Avenue man on probation was arrested late Monday for preparing heroin for street sale, police said.
Officers, assisted by police dog Hercules, found heroin and packaging materials in the basement of the home of Antonio Potter, 32 during a raid about 10:23 p.m. Monday, authorities said. Potter was charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and felony criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Police also said firearms magazines and ammunition was seized from the basement, but he was not charged with any weapons counts.
