NIAGARA FALLS – A hit-and-run crash in a tavern parking lot led to the drunken driving arrest of a Ransomville man Friday evening, police said.
Patrons at the Evening Star tavern on Niagara Falls Boulevard told police just before 8 p.m. Friday that a man struck a vehicle in the parking lot and then drove off.
David A. Ross, 50, of Simmons Road, was stopped a short time later and found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.15, almost twice the legal limit. He was charged with driving while intoxicated.
A passenger in his vehicle, 47-year-old Stephen F. Hansen of Lockport Road, was charged with obstructing governmental administration for reportedly interfering in the ongoing arrest, police said.
