A 53-year-old Springville man was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated early today after he recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.20 percent, more than twice the legal limit, following a traffic stop in Concord, according to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Shawn Young stopped a vehicle at 1:30 a.m. on Boston Springville Road for failing to stay on the right side of the road. Young determined that the driver, William Meyer, was drunk and took him into custody.

After a chemical breath test was performed in the sheriff’s substation in Springville, Meyer was charged with aggravated DWI and other vehicle and traffic violations. He must appear in Concord Town Court at a later date.
