A man carrying a knife and a gun forced his way into a home in the city’s Bailey-Dingens neighborhood early Saturday morning.
The man confronted the two occupants in the home on Peru Place at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, according to police.
One of the residents was able to get out a bedroom window to get help, while the other occupant gave the intruder several morphine pills. The bandit then ran out of the house and into a waiting black pickup, which drove away north on Bailey Avenue.
