A 21-year-old Buffalo man has been charged with second-degree murder in the January 2012 slaying of Adrian L. Huggins Jr., police said Tuesday.

Laquan Morgan, who gave different East Side addresses for his residence, allegedly shot Huggins, 25, who was a passenger in a car parked at Wohlers Avenue near Dodge Street at about 6:30 p.m. Jan. 8. The driver of the vehicle survived wounds from the shooting and had driven Huggins to Erie County Medical Center, where he died 10 days later.

Homicide Detectives Sal Valvo and James Lema were credited by police officials with solving the more than year-old case.
