WESTFIELD – Three people were taken to the hospital on Saturday, after their vehicle crashed on Route 5 in the Town of Westfield.
Cynthia Marx, 57, of Rochester, was driving on Route 5 at about 3 p.m. Saturday, when she fell asleep at the wheel, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said.
A passenger in her vehicle tried to get her attention, but the vehicle lready had veered off the road, traveled down a small embankment and struck a utility pole head on sheering of the base of the pole, officials said.
Marx and her passengers, Elizabeth Marx, 97, of Westfield, and Norrine Snyder, 61, of Lyons, were transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital. the extent of their injuries was unavailable late Saturday.
No charges were lodged.
