Two men in their 20s were being sought Thursday by Buffalo police for the armed robbery of a Liberty Cab driver in the 200 block of Perry Street about 9 p.m. Saturday. The suspects, described as both weighing about 150 pounds, allegedly jumped into the back seat of the cab and robbed the cabbie at olice obtained a search warrant and recovered unspecified evidence.
Investigators believe the couple may have been involved in similar ruses across the state and possibly in other states as well.
They were charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and criminal possession of stolen property. Bail was set at $100,000 cash bond each.
They were taken to the Erie County Holding Center.
Anyone with information about the two suspects is asked to contact local police.
