A standoff with an armed man ended peacefully when he surrendered and left a house in the 400 block of Hinman Avenue in North Buffalo.
The man unloaded a shotgun and left it in the house before coming out and surrendering to Buffalo police.
Buffalo SWAT team members responded to the scene shortly after 1 p.m. after receiving a report that the man had a shotgun and had barricaded himself inside, threatening to kill anyone who approached, authorities said.
As a precaution, police closed off Hinman to the west at Military Road. In addition, a Rural/Metro Medical Services ambulance was dispatched to the scene and placed on standby.
Hinman runs west to east near the Kenmore border.
