RUSHFORD – A 98-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident just after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of State Route 243 and County Route 23, state police in Amity said Thursday.
The victim was identified as Mildred Holzborn of West Seneca.
Investigators said Betty Pollock, 74, of Houghton was eastbound on Route 243 and was attempting to make a left turn onto Route 23 when her vehicle crashed into a vehicle operated by Holzborn’s son, Albert, 75, also of West Seneca. His car was westbound on Route 243 when the crash took place.
Mildred Holzborn was transported to Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville where she was pronounced dead.
Pollock was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment.
Other parties involved were treated at Jones Memorial and released, police said.
Police said the investigation is continuing.
