NIAGARA FALLS – Two emergency room nurses at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center were injured by a female patient on Sunday, city police said.

Toni M. Soliday, 33, of Lockport Road, was charged with two felony counts of second-degree assault just after 3:30 p.m., police said. She is accused of kicking one of the nurses in the stomach and head-butting the other.

Soliday had been brought to the hospital for an evaluation after an arrest by Town of Niagara police, city police said.

The two nurses, one from Niagara Falls and another from Youngstown, told police that Soliday refused to put on a hospital gown and became belligerent, then assaulted the nurses before she could be restrained. Soliday was evaluated, then discharged and released into the custody of officers, according to a police report.
