Oakfield man charged with drunk driving felonies

An Oakfield man faces several charges related to drunk driving after he was pulled over in a traffic stop at about 9 p.m. Friday in Akron, Erie County Sheriff’s officials said.

The deputy who stopped Steven E. Wells of Oakfield found that Wells’ license had been suspended for a previous alcohol-related arrest.

A breath test indicated Wells’ blood alcohol content level was .20 percent, two and a half times the legal limit.

He was charged with felony aggravated DWI because his BAC was over .18 percent and the previous DWI.

He also was charged with a misdemeanor for operating a vehicle without an interlock device.

He was released on tickets to appear at a later date in Akron Village court.
