A Buffalo man wanted on a felony parole violation in a weapons case, as well as aggravated unlicensed driving, was taken into custody Wednesday evening by state police assigned to patrol city streets.
Joe N. Smith, 26, was arrested by troopers with Operation Strikeforce.
Smith was caught because troopers stopped his car after noticing it had an unreadable, and therefore illegal, front license plate, police officials said Thursday.
Smith was ordered held in the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment on the pair of warrants.
