LOCKPORT – A man who recently completed an 18-month prison sentence for making methamphetamine allegedly was at it again last fall, according to an indictment unsealed Monday in Niagara County Court.

Raymond M. Burley, 27, who listed an address on Livingston Avenue in Niagara Falls, pleaded not guilty to third-degree unlawful manufacture of meth and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The charges stem from his Oct. 7 arrest at a house on Spalding Street in Lockport. Burley, who was being sought at the time as a parole violator, allegedly was found to have meth materials and equipment in the apartment and in his car. County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III ordered Burley, a former Tennessee resident, held in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Burley was sent to prison in March 2012 after he and Joshua B. Hoefer of Burt were arrested Oct. 23, 2011, in the Town of Lockport for having a meth lab in a vehicle. Hoefer went to the state prison system’s boot camp, violated parole, and served a year behind bars.
