Several rowdy bar patrons were arrested Sunday and Monday morning in separate instances of fighting and other disturbances.
Sean M. Schmidt, 23, and Jonathan A. Kross, 20, both of Buffalo, were each charged with aggravated harassment and disorderly conduct after allegedly jumping a third man at 245 Allen St. early Monday morning, knocking the victim to the ground and repeatedly punching and kicking him. Schmidt also was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance when a packet of suspected cocaine was found on him after his arrest.
Kiernan M. Harrington, 21, of Buffalo, was charged with disorderly conduct late Sunday night after he allegedly began punching another man shortly after he was bounced from the 67 West Club on Chippewa Street.
Brandon D. Hill, 26, was charged with second-degree assault on a police officer and disorderly conduct after he reportedly became abusive to officers when they pepper-sprayed his friend at 69 W. Chippewa late Sunday night. Hill allegedly was also hit by some of the spray and, when informed he was under arrest, attacked a police officer, who was gouged in the eyes. The officer was treated in Erie County Medical Center for scratches and bleeding.
Austin W. Cleary, 19, of Cheektowaga, was arrested early Monday morning after allegedly confronting police who were attempting to break up a fight at the corner of Delaware and Chippewa at about 4 a.m. Cleary allegedly was upset when officers pushed his friends out of the fight and retaliated by shoving the officers, throwing beer at them and calling them “inappropriate names.” Cleary faces five charges of disorderly conduct and two charges of harassment.
Thomas Clark, 19, of Sanborn, also faces three charges of disorderly conduct for allegedly refusing officers’ instructions to leave the area after he was bounced from 67 West on Chippewa for fighting late Sunday night.
He was arrested after allegedly calling the officers names while attempting to fight with them,
Edward Jakubowski, 23, of Buffalo also was arrested late Sunday on Chippewa after refusing a request to leave Bottoms Up and allegedly hitting an officer in the face. He is charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
Earlier Sunday night, Erik P. Stanek, 27, of Buffalo, was arrested on Chippewa at Franklin streets and charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly interfering with pedestrian traffic and ignoring police requests to move.
Rory D. McCarthy, 29, of Kenmore, was arrested near D’Arcy McGee’s on Franklin Street and charged with third-degree assault and harassment after allegedly punching a man in the face Sunday. The victim was treated at the scene,
At Mr. Goodbar on Elmwood Avenue, Liam R. Skelton, 24, and Kelsey J. Burke, 25, both of Buffalo, were arrested Sunday evening after reportedly fighting with the staff at the bar, including confronting the doorman. Both face five counts of disorderly conduct, four counts of harassment and obstructing the officers.
