Seven people escaped without injury from a fire that tore through a home in the city’s Grider neighborhood late Saturday.
The fire was reported at 10:23 p.m. at 333 Cambridge Ave., off East Delavan Avenue a few blocks from Erie County Medical Center.
A fire official said the blaze started on the first floor of the 2½-story frame structure before spreading to the second floor and attic.
Four adults and three children were receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
Damages were estimated at $80,000 to the structure and $40,000 to contents. The cause remains under investigation.
