A Buffalo man who tried to avoid a traffic stop about 11:20 a.m. Friday on the Kensington Expressway ended up crashing into a tree, state police said.
Seth H. Deitsch, 33, of Niagara Street, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle, after police said they found a hypodermic needle and spoon with heroin residue. He also was charged with fleeing from police, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and reckless driving.
Police said Deitsch also is the subject of active warrants in City of Buffalo Court and was held pending an arraignment.
State police said that when they attempted to stop the suspect for speeding, Dietsch exited abruptly onto Suffolk Street, where he hit the tree.
