LOCKPORT – Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas said Wednesday she was “surprised” that a Buffalo man she imprisoned Wednesday in a domestic violence case has a new girlfriend.
“Does she know your domestic violence history is 13 years [of charges] with 10 different women?” Farkas asked Antiwon J. Dunmeyer, 33, of 15th Street, Buffalo.
The former Niagara Falls resident said his new lady knows his background, but she won’t see him for a while, as Farkas gave him 2 1/3 to seven years in prison for aggravated and first-degree criminal contempt.
Dunmeyer violated a restraining order by assaulting a Falls woman twice last year. Assistant Public Defender Michael E. Benedict called their relationship “tumultuous.”
In another domestic case Wednesday, Joseph L. Burton, 23, of Ely Avenue in the Falls, admitted to first-degree criminal contempt for roughing up a woman May 3, but Farkas said the maximum four-year sentence will run simultaneously with a sentence of 2 2/3 to eight years Burton is already serving for two Falls burglaries.
