A Buffalo man faces up to 25 years in state prison after an Erie County Court jury convicted him of invading a West Side home with an accomplice, threatening the resident’s life with a gun and demanding money.

Dante Richardson, 20, of Linwood Avenue, was found guilty Monday of first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery and second-degree weapon possession in the July 13, 2012, home invasion on Plymouth Avenue.

Richardson and Jerry Wielbon were wearing masks and plastic gloves and had a loaded pistol when they forced their way into the woman’s home late that night, according to Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III. They fled with $10 and a bag of condoms when police arrived.

Richardson will be sentenced April 4 by Judge Kenneth F. Case, according to Assistant District Attorneys Kristi M. Ahlstrom and Ashley M. Morgan who prosecuted the case.

Wielbon, 23, of Holland Place, Buffalo, is serving a 3½-year prison sentence that Case gave him after the defendant pleaded guilty in October 2012 to attempted first-degree burglary and second-degree weapon possession.
