A Buffalo man was sentenced Monday to three to six years in prison for following a woman to her Riverside apartment and raping her last summer.

Erie County Judge Kenneth E. Case sentenced Jacob Lokey, 24, as a second felony offender, based on his 2008 conviction for first-degree attempted robbery.

Lokey had pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and third-degree rape in connection with the attack Aug. 26 in the victim’s apartment on Newfield Street, according to Erie County District Attorney Peter J. Marche.

The victim was walking home from a Skillen Street convenience store at 3:20 p.m. when Lokey followed her into her apartment and raped her. Lokey, who took the victim’s two cellphones, was apprehended by police at Tonawanda Street and Esser Avenue.

The judge gave Lokey three to six years for the burglary and three years for the rape and ordered the sentences to run concurrently.
