MACHIAS - A 49-year-old Freedom woman was arrested by state troopers after an incident in a car she had shifted gears into neutral on Route 16 during an argument Sunday with another occupant of the vehicle.
The other person in the vehicle complained that she had tried to take the keys out of the ignition while the car was in motion and then managed to force-shift the vehicle into neutral to stop it before troopers arrived.
Kathleen M. Johnson was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and faces further proceedings in the Machias Town Court in several weeks.
