State police at Alden assisted Attica village police in arresting three people accused of stealing some items from the 7-Eleven store in the village late Sunday afternoon.
The state trooper who heard the police-radio account of the crime at about 5:20 p.m. Sunday drove to a location on Broadway Road in Alden to monitor westbound traffic. After observing a speeding vehicle that matched the description, he stopped the vehicle and ticketed the female driver for speeding and lack of a child restraint for a back-seat passenger between 4 and 6 years old, according to police reports.
State police said they then recovered proceeds from the larceny in the vehicle.
Attica police charged Marquil L. Adams, 30, of Buffalo; Marcello D. Wiggins, 31, of Buffalo; and Shawn M. Roland, 20, of Sloan, with petit larceny. Adams also was charged with criminal contempt, because of an order of protection against him involving the female driver, according to arrest reports.
