An employee opening a West Ferry Street rental store was robbed early Saturday by a man who brandished a large knife and forced him to open a floor safe, Buffalo police said.
“Don’t do anything stupid,” the robber warned the employee during the 7 a.m. holdup of Aaron’s, police said. The employee was ordered into the office, where he opened a floor safe and handed over three bank bags containing about $2,300, police said.
The robber, who also took the employee’s cellphone, fled out a rear door and fled east on West Ferry and possibly north on Parkdale Avenue, police said.
