A 28-year-old Cambridge Avenue woman was arrested on child neglect charges shortly after a person police-described “good Samaritan” called 911 and reported that the woman’s 3-year-old daughter was standing in freezing temperatures about 9:45 a.m. Friday at the corner of Pembroke and Cambridge avenues.
The girl’s footprints in the snow were traced back to her home, where police reported finding a side door open and no adults in the house.
Helena Williams was charged with endangering the welfare of a child when she returned home.
Police described the house as “dirty with an odor” with “food and garbage about the floor.”
