BROCTON – A Brocton Central School District bus carrying young children was rear-ended in a three-vehicle crash about 8 a.m. Friday on Route 20. No one was injured.
The bus, driven by Laurie Travis, 42, was heading east on Route 20 and stopped for a red light when a car driven by Nicholas Liberatore, 21, of Angola, stopped behind it.
A second car, driven by Michael Manganiello, 29, of Brocton, who claimed he was temporarily distracted by something off the road, was unable to safely stop and sideswiped Liberatore’s car and then rear-ended the school bus.
Manganiello was ticketed by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for imprudent speed.
