LOCKPORT – Aaron M. Adamec, one of four men who took part in a Niagara Falls burglary spree last year, was sentenced Friday to four years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.

Adamec, 19, of 70th Street in the Falls, said he wouldn’t have committed the crimes if he hadn’t been a drug addict. His lawyer, Patrick M. Balkin, said Adamec, who still has a grand larceny charge pending in Niagara Falls, has earned a high school equivalency diploma in jail and “is not the strung-out drug addict I saw when I first represented him.”

Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas predicted Adamec would study in prison and enter college upon his release. “I see you as a bright kid with a good base,” the judge said.

Awaiting sentencing are brothers Mark A. Pardee, 21, and Justin S. Pardee, 18, formerly of 100th Street. They, along with Adamec and an 87th Street teenager who was granted youthful offender status, pleaded guilty to second-degree burglary. The teen is serving 16 months to four years in prison.
