LOCKPORT – A Lockport man said he and his buddy were drinking and thought it would be a good joke to make a report to Crisis Services, telling them a 15-year-old was threatening to harm himself with a shotgun just after 1 a.m. Tuesday.
But the joke ended in an arrest when the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office responded after tracing the call received by Crisis Services.
William D. Kosztowniak, 29, of Akron Road, was found at the scene, highly intoxicated, and was charged with falsely reporting an incident. He told deputies that he had no intention of harming himself and had made the story up.
He was remanded to Niagara County Jail on $500 bail and is to appear today in Lockport Town Court.
