The driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a 52-year-old Buffalo woman crossing Kenmore Avenue along the Buffalo-Town of Tonawanda boundary in December has been issued a traffic summons for inattention, Town of Tonawanda police said Monday.
Edward Spencer, 82, of Cheektowaga, was ticketed for failure to use due care for a pedestrian in the crash that killed Sandra Garner and injured her companion, Kevin Nowak, 55, also of Buffalo, police said.
The pedestrians were struck Dec. 5 as they were crossing Kenmore Avenue as Spencer was making a left turn out of a supermarket parking lot, according to accident investigators.
Spencer is to answer the summons in town traffic court at a later date.
