LOCKPORT – David Anthony, 21, of Ontario Avenue, Niagara Falls, accepted a plea deal Tuesday in connection with the June 20 robbery of a man in the 1600 block of Cleveland Avenue in the Falls.

Anthony admitted to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree robbery in exchange for a promise that he will serve no more than four years in prison instead of the maximum for that crime of seven years. Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III set sentencing for Feb. 4.

Anthony said he was in a car with his co-defendant, Tyrell J. Jordan, 20, of 18th Street, whom Anthony said apparently was trying to make a drug deal with a third man. That man ran from the car screaming for help, Anthony said, and Jordan “called on me to assist.”

Jordan is scheduled for trial Jan. 27 in the robbery and is to be sentenced Feb. 7 for attempted second-degree burglary in connection with an Oct. 23, 2012, break-in at a home on Seneca Avenue in the Falls.
