A Salamanca man died Friday night in a single-car crash on Route 353 in Cattaraugus County.
James E. Brown, 42, of 20 Orchard Street, was traveling south when his 1996 Chevrolet Camaro crossed the center of the road and almost hit an oncoming vehicle head-on, deputies reported.
Brown’s car headed off the road before striking two trees that cut his car into two, deputies said.
Deputies said Brown was taken by ambulance to Lakeshore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The accident is under investigation.
