A Buffalo man who was released on bail in City Court after each of his four drug arrests in four months earlier this year has been sentenced to one year in jail.

State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski sentenced Pedro Quinones, 25, of Lester Street, who had pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Quinones, who had five misdemeanor convictions, was arrested March 23 when Buffalo Police narcotics squad officers executed a search warrant at his home and found more than a half-ounce of heroin. He was released on $2,500 bail.

He was arrested April 9 when the narcotics squad again raided his home and found drugs. He was released on $5,000 bail.

The third arrest came May 15 when narcotics officers found drugs again during a raid on his home. He was released on $2,500 bail.

The final arrest occurred June 6 when police saw him taking part in what appeared to be a drug sale on 14th Street. Officers found that he had more than a half-ounce of heroin. He was released on $10,000 bail.

Assistant District Attorney Brian Langenfeld prosecuted the case.
