Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies charged two men over the weekend in separate incidents involving drunken driving.
Charged with drunken driving Saturday on Central Avenue in Brocton just before midnight was Matthew J. Mulville, 24, of Brocton. Deputies arrested him on charges of drunken driving with 0.08 percent or higher blood alcohol content, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and failing to wear a seat belt.
Deputies said they saw Mulville driving without a seat belt on Central Avenue. After stopping him, they said they determined Mulville was intoxicated. It was also learned that his driving privileges in New York State were currently suspended.
He was issued citations and is to appear in Brocton Village Court at a later date.
Arrested by deputies at about 4:05 a.m. Saturday was Jose V. Dejesus, 29, of Providence, R.I., on Route 60 in the Town of Kiantone.
Deputies reported stopping a vehicle for a traffic violation and later determined Dejesus was intoxicated. It was determined that his Rhode Island driving privileges had been suspended. Dejesus was taken into custody and later arraigned in Kiantone Town Court. He was committed to Chautauqua County Jail on $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 property bond.
He faces charges of driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher, making an unsafe lane change and being an unlicensed driver.
