Buffalo firefighters battled a blaze early this morning that caused $10,000 damage to a vacant two-and-a-half-story restaurant at 1646-1650 Genesee St. on the city’s East Side. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Fire companies arrived at the scene to find heavy fire on one side of the building, requiring an additional two engines and a ladder company to be called to the scene. The fire extended to the attic, and portions of the roof collapsed about 70 minutes into the fire.
No injuries were reported.
