A car fire spread to a nearby occupied home on the city’s West Side early Tuesday morning, leaving a total estimated damage of $26,500 to the home, its contents and the vehicle, Buffalo fire officials reported.
Firefighters responded to a 4:30 a.m. alarm outside 309 Rhode Island St., southeast of Massachusetts Avenue, between 14th and 15th streets. Witnesses said the vehicle was fully involved before flames extended to the 2½-story home.
Fire officials listed $25,000 damage to the house and $1,500 to the vehicle. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
