A Jamaican woman who is accused of scamming Medicaid repeatedly by claiming to be a U.S. citizen has been arrested again, U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. said Thursday.

Georgia Bowen, also known as Georgia Bennett, 38, of Lackawanna, has been charged with health-care fraud, identity theft and unauthorized use of Social Security numbers.

Prosecutors said Bowen previously was caught using someone else’s Social Security number to apply for Medicaid through the Erie County Department of Social Services and ran up more than $13,000 in medical bills. She was sentenced to two years in prison for identity theft in August 2010 and ordered to be deported, but her removal proceedings are still in Immigration Court.

In the meantime, prosecutors said Bowen made two more applications for Medicaid, by using someone else’s Social Security numbers, in December 2010 and November 2011, and received more than $19,300 in medical services before it was discovered that the IDs belonged to other people.
