NIAGARA FALLS – A Lewiston man who returned to his Niagara Avenue property Friday afternoon discovered a thief snipping the copper wires leading to his electric meter.
Police said that the thief, who was in the final stages of gathering up the wire valued at about $100, was arrested as he tried to walk away from the scene shortly after 1 p.m. Charged with petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief was William F. O’Neill, 61, of Niagara Avenue.
