LeROY – A teenaged motorcyclist died and his passenger suffered serious injuries Sunday afternoon after a car drove into the path of their oncoming motorcycle in the Town of Leroy, State Police reported.
19-year-olds Derek K. Sheldon and Ashley M. Stillwell, both of Bergen, were headed north on West Bergen Road riding a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle at around noon when a southbound 2011 Chevrolet Cruze turning left onto Seldon Road crossed their path.
First responders found Sheldon, the driver of the motorcycle, dead at the scene. Stillwell suffered multiple injuries and was listed in critical condition at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after being flown there by Mercy Flight. The driver of the car, 50-year-old Marilyn A. Brassie of Bergen, was not injured.
State Police based in Batavia are investigating the incident, and no charges have been filed.
