An 81-year-old Blasdell man has pleaded guilty after being accused of sexually abusing two young girls under 13 years old, the Erie County Sheriff’s Department announced Friday.
David Palmer pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted criminal sex acts on victims under 13, earlier this week before Erie County Judge Kenneth Case, authorities said. Palmer is set to be sentenced Nov. 14.
Sheriff’s detectives began investigating Palmer in March after receiving a tip that he may have been abusing two girls over several years in his Town of Brant home. The investigation revealed that Palmer began the abuse about eight years ago, but it ended when the girls got older, sheriff’s officials said.
Palmer, who uses a wheelchair, was released on his own recognizance before returning to the nursing home where he lives.
