Two would-be robbers suffered gunshot wounds Sunday night when a man they were apparently trying to rob on the city’s East Side shot them in self-defense, Buffalo police said.
The shooting took place on the 600 block of Minnesota Avenue at around 7:15 p.m. Police said the injured men were taken to Erie County Medical Center. They said one of the men’s injuries was serious.
“Initial indications are that two suspects attempted to rob a male victim, when the victim shot the two suspects,” police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge said.
Police said the intended victim of the robbery had a permit for his gun.
