NIAGARA FALLS – A group of Chinese tourists lost over $6,000 worth of belongings when their vehicle was broken into Friday evening while parked near the old “Turtle” building in the 100 block of Main Street, police reported.

A Pennsylvania man told police the group parked in the area around 5 p.m. They returned to the vehicle two hours later to find that a passenger side door lock had been “punched” out.

Items taken included electronics, a briefcase and other bags, hand-held games and supplies, a saxophone, credit cards and $2,000 in cash. Police learned that one stolen credit cards had already been used to make a fraudulent purchase at a Family Dollar store in the Buffalo area. The victims were advised to cancel the missing cards.
