NIAGARA FALLS – Bicycles and lawnmowers were popular targets with thieves in four separate incidents reported Friday.
An elderly 39th Street woman told police that someone stole her push mower from her garage sometime prior to 4 p.m. Friday. It was valued at $200. A Grand Avenue woman told police that between Wednesday and Friday mornings, someone stole her mower from her detached garage. Loss was put at $150.
A 23rd Street man reported that his bike was taken between 7 p.m. Thursday and 2 p.m. Friday. Someone used chain cutters to clip a chain attaching the bike to a pole in front of the victim’s home, police said. Loss was estimated at $130.
A Linwood Avenue man’s BMX bike was stolen from the driveway of a Michigan Avenue home between 10:30 and 11 a.m. Friday. The victim told police he briefly left the bicycle lying in a friend’s driveway and, upon returning, found it missing. He valued the bike at $300.
