A federal grand jury has indicted a Town of Tonawanda man on new charges related to the fatal overdose of one of his alleged customers.
The indictment accuses Peter N. Militello of selling a heroin and fentanyl mixture to an individual who was later found to have died as a result of intoxication from the heroin and fentanyl.
The person who died is believed to be Robert Runfola, who was found dead in his Delaware Avenue apartment in late May.
“The community needs to know the dangers of this mixture which can result in death in mere minutes after it enters the body," said U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. “Let this case serve as a warning to anybody who engages in the trafficking of any illegal narcotics that we will vigorously track you down and bring you to justice.”
Militello’s indictment – he faces up to life in prison if convicted – is the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Cheektowaga Police Department.
